What types of files can be uploaded?
Almost all types of files can be uploaded to the system for both secure and non-secure document sharing and download. These include MicroSoft® Office documents, PDF files and image types (jpeg, gif, bmp, etc).
Is there a limit to file size?
Yes! - Individual files can be no larger than 2 megabytes. This restriction is placed to ensure that your server runs at optimal speed. Files larger than 2 megabytes will dramatically slow your web site down.
What do we do if a file is larger than 2 megabytes?
There are a number of solutions that can reduce file size. Compressing your files before upload using a desktop application such as WinZip can help.
For images, simple steps like reducing the file resolution from 300dpi to 72dpi will reduce the file size. If you have a file larger than 2 megabytes we can assist you in reducing its size, please contact us for further information.
How many files can we upload?
There is no set limit for the number of files that you can upload to the system. Edit-WebManager is not an archiving system and should not be used as a backup service. The files that you upload to the server should be for review and/or download only.
Can we restrict access to confidential documents?
Yes! - Edit-WebManager has been developed to allow you to quickly establish secure areas that only registered/authorised visitors have access too.
